PART 1: The length of the research proposal is between 9 pages submitted as a Microsoft Word document,

which does not include the title and

reference page. You will write your proposal following the American Psychological Association (APA) Documentation Style; you must use Times

New Roman, 12 font, 1” margins on all sides, and double space- no exceptions.

You will be required to write a research proposal that must include the following sections:

1) An introduction of the issues at hand;

2) a review of relevant literature; 3) a discussion of potential sources of data;

4) a plan for sampling and collecting the necessary data; 5) a plan to analyze the data, and; 6) a discussion of the policy implications of this

research proposal. ees Your Research Proposal Topic:

Has crimes in the NYC Transit System increased during the COVID-19 Pandemic?

You can list specific crimes such as Fare Envasion, Vioelnt Attacks, and other cimes and their reasonings behind it. I’ve attached a Guidline and Oultline for the Reasearch Proposal that must be followed. I’ve aslo attached two examples of Research Proposals that were Grade A papers.

PART 2: You will be required to conduct an individual class pwerpoint presentation highlighting their research proposal worth 15% of your final cumulative grade. You will be required to cover the five sections of their research proposal based on the Research Guidelines posted on

Blackboard as follows: 1) Brief Introduction; 2) Brief review of relevant literature;

3) Methodology utilized listing your hypothesis, independent

variable & dependent variable;

4) A plan for sampling and collecting data; 5) A plan to analyze the data-what do you think you will find out and

why?; 6) Policy implications and limitations. Each student will be given up to five

(5) minutes to present their proposal to their peers. I’ve attache the Guidlines for the Research Proposal as well below.
