Promotional Testing

In 2009, the Supreme Court was involved in a case regarding a promotional examination given to firefighters in New Haven, Connecticut (Ricci v. Destefano). It was initiated when the City threw out all of the test results because they felt there was evidence of disparate impact discrimination.

Research and summarize the case; and
discuss the results and ramifications of the court decision; then
discuss your opinion either in support of the City's decision or in support of the firefighters.
