What could the university do to limit academic dishonesty?
For this assignment, you can write about any aspect of post-secondary education and the pandemic and you can say whatever you want.
This is about you and your opinions. They are important.
You can write about how the university helped or didn’t help students through the pandemic;
what problems students face and what the university could have done to make things easier for everyone.
You can write about remote learning; what is good and what is bad about it. What other methods could the University have used to deliver education that would have been better?
What was your virtual learning experience like?
What could Instructors and Professors do to make your experience better? How did the pandemic affect your education overall? Did it affect what courses you took or your career path?
How? Do you feel that the University was concerned about students? Did they make efforts to help students navigate the pandemic? Do you think that they should have made accommodations on issues such as tuition, marking, technology and technological issues, academic and financial deadlines, assistance with housing, money for the necessities of life, counselling, etc.?
Did they do this? Should they have done this? The University has made several statements about an increase in “cheating” by students as well as saying that students tend to speak inappropriately when they communicate online.
Do you think that these things are true? Why would there be more cheating?
What could the university do to limit academic dishonesty?
Are they handing these kind of cases in an appropriate manner?
You can write about the student experience and the impact of the pandemic. You can write about problems that students have. You can write about the unique problems of International Students.
You can complain about a government that raises tuition during a pandemic. Another student issue is the impact of the pandemic on the mental health of students and the struggle to be motivated to learn, do assignments and study.
Do you think the university provided enough support. These are just some ideas that are in my head. You can write on some of them or none of them.
You should write about what you want to write about. It can be positive or negative. This is not an academic assignment. This is your opportunity to express your thoughts, opinions, concerns and frustrations as well as your good experiences and your disappointments. YOU DO YOU! (BTW: I am the only one who will see your assignment.)
